Sabre Pet Food is based in Leicestershire, operating out of TruNet House on the Ivanhoe Business Park in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, and it’s part of TruNet Group, a wider company that works across a range of innovative products beyond pet food. The company behind it, Trunet (UK) Limited, was incorporated in July 2007, which makes the business roughly 18 years old, though Sabre as a dedicated pet food brand appears to have developed more specifically out of that parent company over time.

Rather than manufacturing its own food, Sabre works as the official UK distributor for a small group of brands it’s chosen to back: Alpha Spirit, Primal Spirit, DARF, and Orygo Fresh Superfoods. The company has described its goal fairly simply, offering pets a diet that replicates what their ancestors would have eaten in the wild, with a focus on raw and natural ingredients across cold-pressed and complete food formats for both dogs and cats.

The product range covers dry food, treats, supplements, and a dedicated cat range, including a wet mousse and an Iberian dry food line, both formulated with taurine. Sabre also runs a wholesale side of the business and offers a subscription service for repeat orders, alongside free next-day delivery on orders over £54.99. Customers dealing with questions about any of the brands can go through Sabre’s in-house veterinary expert, Jason, rather than being passed between the company and the manufacturers it distributes for.

Company filings show Sabre’s parent, Trunet (UK) Limited, employing 53 people with total assets of £5.66 million, run under two directors and ultimate ownership through Trunet Group Holdings Limited. The company positions itself less as a manufacturer and more as a careful selector, choosing which raw and natural pet food brands are worth bringing into the UK market and backing them with its own customer service and veterinary support.
