Dr. Nieca Goldberg is a board-certified cardiologist with a focus on women’s cardiovascular health, women’s preventive cardiology, and women’s heart disease awareness. She is an active New York City practitioner and is closely affiliated with organizations like NYU Langone Health. She also started a separate clinical practice, Total Heart Care where her main efforts are to diagnose and treat heart conditions in women, which has been a long-standing gap in cardiac care among women. Total Heart Care is a specialized facility where she assesses cardiovascular risk, prescribes preventive care and prophylaxis, and follows up on cardiac diseases in adult patients.
Dr. Goldberg is a clinical associate professor of medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and former medical director of the Joan H. Tisch Center of Women. She also headed the Women’s Heart Program at Lenox Hill Hospital, which was among the first programs in New York that dedicated particular attention to women and their heart care. She has also served as co-medical director of the 92nd Street Y Cardiac Rehabilitation Program and in advisory and leadership positions in national health organizations.
Dr. Goldberg has practiced, instructed, and advocated in the field of public health with more than 30 years of experience. She has contributed significantly to the awareness of heart disease among women, including acting as a national spokesperson of the American Heart Association and playing a significant role in the establishment of the Go Red for Women campaign.
Dr. Goldberg is an author as well. Her books are ‘Women Are Not Small Men’ and ‘Complete Guide to Women’s Health’, covers the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease in women. Her articles are based on her work in a clinic and seek to refute the myths associated with conventional medical research and practice.
