Capital Women’s Care

Capital Women’s Care functions as one of the largest private networks of obstetricians and gynecologists in the Mid-Atlantic. It was established in 1998 when different practices came together and formed a collaborative healthcare system. Today, they have 70+ locations throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., and they operate under a structure that promotes a collaborative approach to healthcare, providing a combination of expertise, medical access, and care throughout all locations.

They are a team of 250+ physicians, along with nurse practitioners, midwives, and physician assistants. They operate under a connected provider system, allowing them to function as a large multidisciplinary team. This helps the patients to seek advice from specialists, obtain a second opinion, and receive a coordinated plan of care, while also providing personalized care through local clinics.

They give patients a complete range of healthcare options for all stages of life, from annual well-woman exams to pregnancy, fertility, menopause, and contraception. They also give patients access to a variety of different treatments, such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery, endometrial ablation, urogynecology, pelvic floor treatments, and oncology, ensuring they receive a complete range of different healthcare options through one system.

One of their biggest focus areas is providing a sense of inclusivity by providing healthcare options for cisgender women, transgender individuals, and LGBTQ+ individuals. They also focus on preventative care, such as bone density testing, mammography, and STI testing, ensuring they are able to give patients a chance to take control of their overall healthcare management.
