It was established in 2000 when Chanin designed a collection of handmade T-shirts by artisanal shops in the Shoals community of northwest Alabama. She ws always dedicated to sustainable design and to the retention and continuation of craft traditions of the region, including the creation of locally- and ethically-sourced fashion and textile products. It is now part of Project Threadways, which is exploring the themes of textiles, manufacturing, craft, and community development.
